Jio Platforms is moving towards the public market at a time when India’s telecom industry is shifting from a subscriber-acquisition story to a monetisation and digital-services story. Jio received Securities and Exchange Board of India’s (SEBI) final observations on its initial public offering (IPO) papers on 28 August 2026. The proposed issue comprises up to 27 crore fresh equity shares. The final price and issue dates are yet to be announced.
In its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP), Jio states that the proceeds will primarily be used to prepay borrowings of Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd (RJIL), with the balance earmarked for general corporate purposes.
