The Qmet Tech Foundation, a Section 8 (not-for-profit) company established by IIT Bombay under the National Quantum Mission (NQM), has officially commenced its activities. Focused on Quantum Sensing and Metrology, Qmet serves as a leadership hub for translational research, managing funds, and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration among 16 member institutes.

The kickoff meeting united researchers to define a shared vision, set milestones, and discuss collaborative frameworks. The event was inaugurated by Prof. Abhay Karandikar, Secretary of DST, with the Dean (R&D) and Dean (Strategy) of IIT Bombay also in attendance, emphasizing the institute’s strong commitment to the growth and success of Qmet Tech Foundation.
