Starring Kamya Punjabi, Deepshikha Nagpal, Manoj Kumar Sharma &amp; More, the Film Aims to Spark a Global Conversation Around Women's Health
In a powerful and unprecedented move, the muhurat of &ldquo;Me No Pause Me Play&rdquo; took place in Madh, Mumbai, marking the launch of the world&rsquo;s first full-length feature film dedicated entirely to menopause - a subject long ignored by mainstream cinema and public discourse.
Directed by Samar K Mukherjee and written &amp; produced by Manoj Kumar Sharma, the film is co-produced by Suraj Singh Mas, Shakil Qureshi, and Manoj Kumar Sharma, who also wrote the screenplay and dialogues. Akram Khan joins the team as Director of Photography, with Shweta Mukherjee serving as Executive Producer. The project is backed by Mirrro Films and Digifilming, with Reliance Entertainment, led by Sandeep Yadav, on board as the official digital marketing partner.

Featuring a powerhouse ensemble cast including Kamya Punjabi, Deepshikha Nagpal, Manoj Kumar Sharma, Karan Singh Chhabra, Arkham Abbasi, Indu Solanki, Stuti Goyal, Kajal Sharma, Manu Malik, Suraj Singh Mas, Moninder Singh Dhanjal, Anshu Katariya, Ivaan Maran, Lalita Kumar, Shibani Rambhad, Saurabh Bansal, Shivaji Ramchandrarao Kshirsagar, Vikrant Meghwal, Kamaal Malik, Anup Kumar Mishra, Reena Bhattacharya, Shilpa Anil Nailk, Stuti Vinkle, Ramesh Paliwal, Abhishek Singh, and a special cameo by Amiee Misobbah, the film is inspired by the critically acclaimed book Me No Pause Me Play - a work that has already touched the lives of thousands of women globally.
In a world where women&rsquo;s health is too often underrepresented, Me No Pause Me Play addresses menopause head-on - highlighting the physical, emotional, and psychological challenges women face during this natural phase of life. From hormonal imbalances and anxiety to body pain and emotional breakdowns, the film portrays these experiences with raw honesty and heartfelt storytelling.
Director Samar K Mukherjee shared: &ldquo;Cinema must reflect real stories. Menopause is real, often painful, and almost always ignored. This film isn't just about one woman&rsquo;s journey - it's about awakening society to a truth we&rsquo;ve kept in the shadows for far too long.&rdquo; Writer-Producer Manoj Kumar Sharma added: &ldquo;Menopause is not just a biological event; it&rsquo;s an emotional and mental transition that millions of women experience - mostly in silence. Through this film, I want to give these women a voice, a sense of community, and the recognition they so rightly deserve. This film is a salute to their strength.&rdquo;
At the launch event, Kamya Punjabi emphasized: &ldquo;It&rsquo;s time we break the silence. Menopause is not the end - it&rsquo;s a transition that should be met with care, support, and respect.&rdquo;
Deepshikha Nagpal reflected: &ldquo;We speak so openly about puberty - but when women go through a similar hormonal upheaval later in life, it&rsquo;s treated as taboo. This film breaks that mindset.
