Sandeep Khurana: From IIT JEE to Stanford Music
Sandeep Khurana’s journey into the creative industry is a tale of chasing dreams guided by his inner voice. Academically brilliant at Salwan Public School, New Delhi, he then cleared the prestigious IIT JEE exam, and later chose to join Delhi Institute of Technology to study Computer Engineering, since his IIT JEE rank wouldn't get him his choice of Engineering at IIT Delhi.
With an illustrious professional career in the IT industry across the globe, he took a leap of faith to pursue his passion in the creative world. He learnt Film Direction, Production, and TV Journalism from the Asian Academy of Films and TV, India. He learnt music from schools in India, and later from Ali Akbar Khan College of Music, California. He then learnt video production and music from Stanford University, California.
In 2008, he founded his dream name, SK Infinity World Media, to make meaningful, avant-garde music for people around the world, with genres ranging from New Age, Psychedelic, Rock, Fusion, Film Score, Hip Hop, RnB to World Music. His podcasts have been in iTunes' Top 100 New Age music charts. His music has been part of programmes aired on STAR TV, Channel V, Asia, and KMVT15 (California). His music is being incorporated by Miss World organization, Media Channels, Ministry of Tourism, India, and noted celebrities into their social media posts. His guided meditations and healing music are also ranked high in popular apps e.g. Insight Timer.
He worked on bringing the spiritual essence of India to the worldwide audience through his creations by blending Western instruments with Indian Chants & Mantras.
Harnessing the healing touch of music, his albums explore the world of Yoga, Reiki Healing, Chakra Meditation, and Chants. Some of his notable spiritual albums include Om Namaha Shivaya Chants, Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra, Sacred Chants Ensemble, Nam Myoho Renge Kyo, Yoga Music, Shri Hanuman Chalisa Symphony of Sacred Chants, and more. His rich baritone voice adds depth and charisma to the music tracks he composes. His musical repertoire also includes different forms of Guided Meditations, Affirmations for Self-Empowerment, and Sounds for Healing, Chakra Sounds and OM Mantra. His musical endeavours have been honoured with many prestigious recognitions, such as Special Jury Awards in music from the UK Songwriting Contest and USA Songwriting Contests.
Amongst latest music releases, his recent song release, 'Jaane Kaisa Ab Imtehaan', a love ballad, with Bollywood legend Padmashree Kavita Krishnamurthy, promises to be a delightful addition to the collection of iconic songs produced by him for his upcoming short films. He wrote the song, while renowned composer Bappa B. Lahiri provided the music. New Releases include “In Love With Zindagi”, “The Desert Folklore”, “Shiv Bhajan”, “Bhajan Clubbing”, “Women’s Day You Are Magical”, “Positive Affirmations Embracing Duality”, “Gayatri Mantra”, and “The Baritone Project - OM”.
He has written and sung songs with Sadhana Sargam (Teri Meri Baat Ban Jaye), Padmashree Kumar Sanu (Vande Mataram), Alka Yagnik (upcoming), and Amit Kumar (Cinderella), which will feature in short films. As a filmmaker, he has also shot, directed, and produced documentary films, and AD films for organizations including Sri Sri Ravi Shankar ji's Art of Living Foundation, USA. He has also made short films to promote Fashion, Lifestyle, and Fitness.
His short films have won awards at film festivals including 12th Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival, San Francisco Arthouse Short Festival, Paris Cinema Awards, and Tagore International Film Festival, Mumbai International Film Festival India, and more.
His music poster was featured on Billboard at Times Square, New York in 2022. The poster was signed by Bollywood Legends Shri Amit Kumar and Shri Sudesh Bhonsle in NJ, USA, during their concert.
The Consulate General of India, San Francisco, honored him with recognition for his contributions to Arts and Music at an event organized in the San Francisco Bay Area. His duet with Kavita Krishnamurthy, with music by Bappa B Lahiri, 'Jaane Kaisa Ab Imtehaan' qualified as an entry for Grammy Awards 2026, under Global Music Performance category. His works have been published in The Hindustan Times, Times of India, India Today, Mid Day, Bollywood Hungama, Zee5, ANI, India Currents, India Post, India West etc.
