Green Ocean: A Raindance Film Festival Selection and Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival Semi-Finalist

Mr. Huang’s short film, Green Ocean, was officially selected for the renowned Raindance Film Festival, the largest independent film festival in the UK. This recognition is a testament to his editing skills and the film’s potential for Oscar® and BAFTA nominations. Additionally, Green Ocean was listed as a Semi-Finalist at the prestigious Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival (RIIFF), which is also an Academy Award, BAFTA, and Canadian Screen Awards qualifier. RIIFF has been recognized as one of the best international film festivals in the United States. However, the editing process was not without its challenges. “One of the main hurdles was ensuring the story’s subtle emotional resonance while maintaining a cohesive narrative flow,” Mr. Huang explains. “The cultural context of the story required careful pacing to enhance the storytelling without overshadowing the message.” His meticulous attention to detail paid off, as the film was well-received by audiences and critics alike.

To the Beach: International Recognition
Mr. Huang’s work on To the Beach also garnered significant recognition, with selections at the Macau International Micro-Film Festival and the Pramana Asian Film Festival in Southern Italy. Additionally, the film received an Honorable Mention at the Tokyo Film Awards.
