Aging is often seen as a time to slow down. But for many seniors, it can also bring loneliness, isolation, and a feeling of being left out. In India, nearly half of all seniors report feeling lonely, with many living alone or only with their spouse. While their children are busy building careers and families, seniors often struggle to find purpose and connection.

This is where Sukoon Unlimited steps in. Founded in 2024 by Vibha Singal, an IIM Ahmedabad alumna with nearly two decades of experience in strategy and customer experience, Sukoon Unlimited is India’s first senior-led age-tech platform. Its mission? To make aging a time of joy, learning, and contribution-not isolation.

“Aging doesn’t mean fading into the background,” says Vibha. “Seniors have so much wisdom, talent, and kindness to offer. They just need the right spaces to feel seen, heard, and valued.”

A Community-Driven Ecosystem for Seniors

Sukoon Unlimited offers a holistic platform where seniors actively engage, lead, and mentor. The ecosystem is designed to promote emotional well-being and meaningful social interactions. Here’s what Sukoon offers:

  • Sukoon Sarathi: A peer-to-peer mentorship network where seniors uplift and support each other.
  • Counselling & Support Groups: A safe space for emotional well-being, guided by experienced seniors.
  • Social Meetups & Events: A vibrant calendar of activities to foster friendships and learning.
  • Skill-sharing & Volunteering: Opportunities to stay active, valued, and purpose-driven.
  • Tech Assistance & Digital Inclusion: Helping seniors stay connected and empowered in a digital world.

What makes Sukoon special is that it’s senior-led. Seniors aren’t just users-they’re community leaders, mentors, and friends.

Why This Matters

Loneliness isn’t just about feeling sad. It can harm both the mind and body. Studies show that social isolation can increase the risk of heart disease, depression, and even dementia. In fact, it’s as harmful as smoking 15 cigarettes a day.

“Many seniors tell us they feel invisible,” says Vibha. “At Sukoon, we help them reconnect-with themselves, with others, and with life.”

Take Mrs. Rani Mehta, a retired teacher who felt lonely after her husband passed away. “I used to sit alone all day. My children live in different cities, and I didn’t know how to fill my time,” she shares. Festivals felt quieter, and health challenges became harder to face alone.

“Living alone often leaves me feeling isolated, especially during festivals or health challenges. But when I found Sukoon, I discovered a space where I could connect, share, and learn with people who understand. The Sarthis brought so much warmth and comfort, making me feel part of a community, even from a distance.”

A Growing Movement

Since its launch, Sukoon Unlimited has grown steadily, bringing together seniors from diverse backgrounds. Today, the platform has over 2500 active members across 300 cities, offering emotional support, engaging activities, and opportunities to give back. For many, it has become a true lifeline.

In January 2025, Sukoon Unlimited secured $430,000 in pre-seed funding from Anchorage Capital Partners (India), Eaglewings, Dr. Vinay Jain, and Manish Dureja. The funding is being utilized to scale Sukoon Unlimited, with a goal of reaching millions of seniors. A significant focus is on fostering a global presence, particularly among NRI senior communities, ensuring that aging is embraced as a fulfilling and connected phase of life, no matter where one resides. Beyond the digital space, Sukoon Unlimited is also deepening real-world connections through an increased number of offline community meetups and wellness retreats.

While platforms like Emoha, Khyaal, and Seniority offer senior-focused services, Sukoon Unlimited sets itself apart by focusing on emotional and social well-being over traditional caregiving. Its senior-led counseling network, commitment to peer mentorship, and active advocacy against ageism position it as a transformative force in the age-tech sector.

As India’s demographic shifts, with millions entering their senior years, platforms like Sukoon Unlimited are need of the hour in reframing what it means to grow old. It’s not about fading into the background-it’s about stepping into a new role, one filled with purpose, connection, and joy.
