While we often discuss outdoor pollution, a bigger, lesser-known threat looms inside our cars.

A 2023 study by the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) found that pollution levels inside vehicles can be 5 to 10 times higher than outside. Harmful pollutants such as PM2.5, carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NOx), and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) seep into car cabins through ventilation systems, leaving passengers exposed for hours each day.
