Bestselling thriller The Dealer by Ajit Menon & Anil Verma expands The Panther’s Ghosts universe, now set for a big-screen spy-action franchise.
The Dealer
There’s a new buzz in B-town-and it’s not about a big-budget sequel or a star wedding. It’s about a book. Or rather, a series of books that’s now being turned into a cinematic juggernaut.
Thriller duo Ajit Menon and Anil Verma are back with The Dealer, the third instalment in their blockbuster series The Panther’s Ghosts, and this one isn’t just heading to the bookshelves-it’s heading to the big screen.
After the massive success of The Panther’s Ghosts – The Beginning and The Puppeteer, which made it to the top 15 thrillers of 2023–25, fans were already hooked on their political espionage universe. But with The Dealer, the authors are going full throttle-launching an all-new PG Franchise, with Anaaar Entertainment, Mayavi Entertainment, and HAAD joining forces.
“This is going to be India’s own MI-with a twist,” say Ajit & Anil.
“This isn't just action. It’s action that hits close to home.” Haadi is quick to add.
The books have already earned a cult following for their tight narratives, real-event inspirations, and explosive character arcs. The Panther himself-India’s fictional PM Damodar Das-has become a fan favourite for his unapologetic, bold moves.
With screenplays being drafted and the production pipeline heating up, the makers are looking to redefine Indian action cinema-less melodrama, more mission. Less fantasy, more firepower.
The streets of Mumbai may still be talking about heroes with capes-but soon, they’ll be talking about covert operatives, double agents, and political conspiracies that feel far too real.
