Actor Soniya Bansal made a striking international debut at the 79th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, captivating attention with a culturally rooted and spiritually inspired appearance on the prestigious red carpet.
Representing her upcoming environmental film The Last Breath, Bansal blended Indian tradition with couture elegance, making a statement that was both cinematic and symbolic.
For her debut appearance, the actor donned a bespoke pastel pink lehenga-saree ensemble designed by Dolly J. The outfit featured intricate white floral embroidery and delicate gold embellishments, paired with a sheer dupatta draped gracefully over her head, evoking imagery associated with Radha Rani.

Styled with emerald and uncut diamond jewellery, traditional bangles, and subtle alta accents on her hands, Bansal completed the look with soft dewy makeup, defined eyes, and a minimal bindi. A peacock feather detail woven into her hair served as a symbolic nod to Indian mythology.
&ldquo;Walking the red carpet at Cannes for the first time feels surreal. I wanted to stay rooted in Indian culture while presenting something timeless and graceful on an international stage,&rdquo; Bansal said.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the ensemble, she added, &ldquo;Radha Rani symbolises grace, devotion and strength. I wanted my look to reflect those emotions while also celebrating Indian craftsmanship before a global audience.&rdquo;
According to the makers, The Last Breath addresses the urgent issue of deforestation and environmental conservation. Bansal has reportedly not only acted in the film but also contributed creatively to the project.
&ldquo;The Last Breath is very close to my heart because it carries an important environmental message. Cinema has the power to inspire awareness and change, and I&rsquo;m proud to be associated with a story that speaks about protecting nature,&rdquo; the actor said.
The film also stars Shiv Thakare.
With her Cannes debut, Bansal joins a growing list of Indian artists using the global platform to showcase a blend of cinema, culture and social consciousness on the international stage.
