Daya Shetty Bolsters Independent Cinema as Producer of ‘Hello Knock Knock Kaun Hai’

Dayanand “Daya” Shetty, celebrated for his iconic role in the long-running television series CID, steps boldly into the realm of independent cinema as the producer of Hello Knock Knock Kaun Hai, a gripping Hindi suspense thriller under the Daya Shetty Productions banner. With over two decades in the television industry, Shetty’s passion for promoting independent filmmakers has culminated in this debut production, a project that aligns with his vision of storytelling freedom and creative liberty. Directed by veteran filmmaker Prabal Baruah, the film promises a riveting mix of suspense, drama, mystery, and psychological thrills, featuring an ensemble cast including Aditya Srivastava, Sonali Kulkarni, Barkha Bisht, Zarina Wahab, Lilliput, Saahil Uppal, and Shetty himself. The film is set to release on 7 November.

Shetty’s decision to produce Hello Knock Knock Kaun Hai stems from his deep-rooted belief in the power of independent cinema. “I always think that we have great strength as a nation of stories. Thrillers and independent cinema will always thrive. I believe in independent cinema because it offers a lot of creative liberty, and that is exactly what we wanted with this film. With such a talented cast and Prabal Baruah’s talent, which I have known for years, it was but natural for me to support this indie film, because that is what I believe in,” Shetty said. His collaboration with Baruah, whose vision for layered storytelling and atmospheric tension shapes the film, reflects Shetty’s commitment to backing projects that resonate with his creative instincts. As a producer, Shetty found the gripping narrative a natural fit, stating, “With such a gripping narrative, it was natural for me to back up this project, and I am quite satisfied with the outcome.”
