The award-winning app for scanning and managing documents, iScanner, launches a new feature that helps small businesses make a positive impression on their clients. This feature, Office Filter, creates the impression that scanned documents were made by a stationary scanner. This filter gives an authentically scanned effect by adding black dots and small lines to a PDF.
Before developing the feature, iScanner conducted a survey and found that businesses with a physical office and professional equipment appear more solid and trustworthy. And 50% of small business owners believe that clients value having a physical office. As a result, businesses sometimes find the scans created via mobile applications with AI filters too perfect, lacking the authentic office feel that some of their clients expect. Moreover, nearly a third of survey participants said they would like a filter that creates an authentically scanned effect.
“When we conducted the survey, we saw that small businesses sometimes find it hard to operate without a physical office. Despite remote work and remote teams having become commonplace in our post-COVID reality and mobile applications substituting for office equipment (from stationary scanners to fax machines), some people still expect a business to have a physical office. Without one, a business can appear less professional.
Our team decided to help businesses that struggle with biases by developing a special filter. With the Office Filter, your documents will look as if they were scanned by a traditional scanner, complete with small imperfections. The new filter is available to both free and paid iScanner users on iOS, and stands out compared to other AI-based filters that help to erase fingerprints from scans and deblur or polish documents.
