its global expansion journey, Plug N Ride Motors India Pvt. Ltd. today announced its foray into the African market with the launch of Plug &amp;
Ride Company Limited (Tanzania), introducing Tanzania's ﬁrst locally assembled electric tricycles and electric motorcycles while reaffirming its commitment to building a cleaner, smarter and more sustainable mobility ecosystem across East Africa.
The launch marks Plug N Ride Motors India's ﬁrst manufacturing
footprint on the African continent and reﬂects the company's growing global ambitions to take Indian electric mobility innovation beyond
domestic borders. More than an international expansion, the initiative represents Plug N Ride's vision of creating sustainable mobility
ecosystems in emerging markets through local manufacturing, technology transfer, strategic partnerships and skill development.

To lead its African operations, Plug N Ride Motors India Pvt. Ltd. has established Plug &amp; Ride Company Limited in Tanzania. The partnership has been designed to support Tanzania's industrialisation
agenda by promoting local assembly, strengthening domestic
manufacturing capabilities, generating employment and accelerating the country's transition towards clean mobility.
At the heart of the expansion is Plug &amp; Ride's state-of-the-art assembly facility in Dar es Salaam, where the company will manufacture electric
vehicles engineered speciﬁcally for African operating conditions. The portfolio includes passenger and cargo electric tricycles, electric motorcycles, electric bicycles, school transport vehicles, electric ambulances, municipal utility vehicles, golf carts and customised commercial electric vehicles, making Plug N Ride one of the region's most diversiﬁed electric mobility manufacturers.
Unlike a conventional vehicle launch, Plug &amp; Ride Company is
introducing a comprehensive electric mobility ecosystem designed to ensure long-term adoption. Alongside manufacturing, the company will establish an integrated network of authorised dealerships, service centres, charging infrastructure, spare parts distribution, technician training
programmes and digital customer support, creating a sustainable
foundation for electric mobility across Tanzania and the wider East African region.
As part of its expansion roadmap, Plug N Ride has announced an ambitious target of delivering 5,000 electric vehicles during the
2026&ndash;27 financial year, underlining its conﬁdence in Tanzania's rapidly
evolving clean mobility market.
A key milestone during the launch was the signing of a strategic
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Plug &amp; Ride Company Limited and Equity Bank Tanzania Limited to establish a dedicated
electric mobility ﬁnancing framework. The collaboration will provide affordable and ﬂexible ﬁnancing solutions for transport operators, ﬂeet owners, entrepreneurs, MSMEs, institutions and individual customers purchasing electric motorcycles, electric tricycles and electric bicycles,
helping remove one of the biggest barriers to EV adoption in the country.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by Hon. David Mwakiposa Kihenzile (MP), Deputy Minister of Transport, United Republic of Tanzania, who formally inaugurated Plug &amp; Ride Company Tanzania.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Minister described the project as an important milestone in advancing sustainable transportation and industrial development, observing that the initiative aligns with Tanzania's vision of promoting green innovation, strengthening local manufacturing
capabilities and creating new employment opportunities.
