Before dazzling screens with her effortless dance moves and striking screen presence Giorgia Andriani was quietly learning the ropes of the entertainment worldbehind the camera From choreographing in Guest iin London to embracing action in Karoline Kamakshi her journey has been anything but conventional In this candid chat she opens up about her Bollywood beginnings and her creative choices1 Yoursquove mentioned working behind the scenes in Bollywood before appearing on screen Could you elaborate on your experience as an assistant director particularly on Guest in LondonA Oh that whole experience was amazing So when I was in London studying filmmaking I got these opportunities to work on Indian film projects from there Sometimes Id help coordinate things other times Id support different parts of production It really opened my eyes to how everything works behind the scenes Now when Im acting I totally get what each department needs and I can work better with everyone Its like having this insider knowledge that makes everything smoother on set2 The role in Karoline Kamakshi involved action and combat scenes Did you undergo any specific training for itA Yeah that was totally new for me I had to learn all these combat moves and work with the stunt team to get the fight scenes right My dance background definitely helped with stunt moves and their coordination but action is completely different you need this specific kind of timing and precision The makers hired a stunt master for me to go over the action sequences I spent time doing the training and practicing the stunts to make sure it looked real but also stayed safe It was tough but honestly so rewarding Now I feel like I can take on way more different types of roles3 How did it feel to debut in Bollywood with NonStop Dhamaal What drew you to that scriptA That was such a crazy experience Guest iin London came out in 2017 and it felt so surreal going from working behind the camera to actually being in front of it What I loved about that project was how fun and light it was plus I got to work with these incredible actors I mean Id worked on Indian films before but in different ways so I knew a bit about the industry But acting That was completely new territory It taught me so much about connecting with audiences and understanding how Bollywood storytelling works4 Did you receive any formal acting or voice training particularly to prepare for Hindilanguage roles A Oh this has been such a journey I worked with amazing coaches who helped me not just with pronunciation but understanding all the emotional layers in Hindi Like certain phrases have these cultural meanings that you just cant translate directly Voice training helped me get the rhythm right for different kinds of scenes Im still learning honestly every project teaches me something new about how to express emotions authentically in Hindi while sounding natural5 Yoursquove featured in a number of popular music videos How do you select the projects you want to be part of A For me its all about the music first If a song doesnt give me goosebumps or make me feel something I cant fake that energy in the video I also look at whos behind the project and whether theyll let me bring my own ideas to the table Sometimes its about working with artists I really admire other times its because the concept pushes me to try something totally new I want to actually contribute creatively not just show up and look pretty
