Like millions of Indians, Niwash Kumar Mandal once had a bathroom shelf that only ever grew. A cleanser here, a serum there, a ‘miracle’ someone swore by online. At his peak he was juggling close to 15 products and spending nearly ₹5,000 every month - and yet his skin looked more tired, not less. “I remember standing at the mirror one morning, surrounded by half-used bottles, thinking: how did skincare get this complicated, and this expensive, for results I couldn’t even see?”
