approach to this projectKshitij Kapil IndieX was a festival we had been closely following Its a respected platform known for bringing together a diverse group of creative individuals to network and celebrate their work I had friends who previously screened their films at IndieX and they consistently spoke highly of the quality of the projects and the talented people involved I knew the competition would be tough many of the films are crafted by seasoned industry professionals so I made sure to approach our project with great care Every shot was thoughtfully composed and every story beat was carefully considered to ensure we visually conveyed our visionOne of our biggest strengths during production was our preparation We spent nearly three months developing the story testing different cameras lenses and lighting styles to establish the films look in advance We were also fortunate to have repeated access to our location which allowed us to run onsite tests and finetune our approach Every element of the film was deliberately and meticulously crafted to support the final result I truly believe that the more time you invest in preproduction the stronger your final product venues where some of my greatest inspirations once began is incredibly meaningful It fills me with pride but more importantly it fuels my drive to keep creatingFestivals like these offer so much more than just a screening opportunity They expose you to a wide range of films and genres many of which you might not encounter elsewhere This can help broaden your creative perspective Its also an invaluable chance to connect with likeminded individuals exchange ideas and learn from one another Being surrounded by such talent and passion is both inspiring and a reminder of how much we can grow not every festival is the right match for every film My priority is to visually interpret the story and create the experience to matchI also lead a camera and lighting team so a big part of my job is making sure everyone is on the same page technically and creatively That means ensuring a safe collaborative environment on set communicating clearly about lighting setups camera movement lens choices and making sure our visual language is in sync with the directorrsquos visionWhen everyone is aligned and contributing their best work toward a unified goal I know wersquore creating something strong
