Sitaare Zameen Par: CBFC suggests THESE changes to Aamir Khan's film

Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par is all set to hit the silver screen on July 20, 2025. The anticipation for the film is high given the success of its spiritual successor, 2008's Taare Zameen Par. Besides, the topic of the film has also impressed many, raising intrigue. Ahead of its release, the film received a clearance certificate from the Censor Board after some reported back and forth. Now latest reports share the changes that the film was asked to make in order for it to be released smoothly.  CBFC suggests changes to Sitaare Zameen Par According to recent reports, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) reportedly asked the makers of Sitaare Zameen Par to replace a reference to late pop icon 'Michael Jackson' with the word 'Lovebirds'. In addition to this, it also asked them to change the word 'Businesswoman' to 'Businessperson' to make it more gender neutral.  The Censor Board also reportedly asked the makers to add a quote by Prime Minister Narendra Modi right at the beginning of the film, before the disclaimer. The board also did not permit the makers to use a visual which had the word 'Kamal' written in it, citing reasons of political sensitivity. 1 Tingu Basketball Coach, 10 Toofani SITAARE aur unki journey. Nevertheless, Sitaare Zameen Par has now been granted a U/A 13+ certificate, with the official runtime of the film being 2 hours 38 minutes. The film is directed by RS Prasanna, and it is adapted from the Spanish film Campeones. Alongside Aamir, the film also stars Genelia D'Souza and a new cast of 10 fresh faces. The film will have a theatre-only release on July 20, since Aamir has decided not to release the film on OTT. Aamir Khan's reported disagreements with CBFC According to reports, CBFC had earlier demanded that some scenes be cut from the film. However, Aamir believed that every part of the film, including the scenes in question, had been made with deep thought and purpose. He was of the opinion that the story, the dialogues, and the characters all play an important part in delivering an important message. Thus, removing or altering them would weaken the impact.           View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by Aamir Khan Productions (@aamirkhanproductions) Aamir was also believed to meet the board members personally and explain the intent of the scenes to them. Whether that happened or not is unknown. Nevertheless, the board gave its clearance to the film on 16th June 2025, ahead of its release.

Ali Fazal on fatherhood: 'I spent the first few months very anxious'

Next month, Ali Fazal will bring romance on screen with Metro... In Dino. But in real life, love is an everyday affair for the actor, who has been discovering new meanings to the emotion after welcoming daughter Zuneyra Ida Fazal. His love story with actor and his wife Richa Chadha too has taken a new turn as they navigate parenthood together. “You’ll find me trying to flirt back with my wife, find new ways to get out. Once our daughter sleeps, we’re like, ‘Let’s grab a bite’. Or some mornings, we sit, have our coffees, and talk,” he smiles. Fazal and Chadha became proud parents to Zuneyra last July. Since then, it has been a whirlwind of change — between burping duties and nappy changes, between feeling on top of the world and feeling exhausted, the actor says he has become “a different person”. “The definition of love has become different since parenthood,” he reflects, adding that he was an anxious father in the first few months since his daughter’s birth. “I probably read all the literature. I spent the first few months very anxious. Now it’s getting a little better.”  But the new father’s worries haven’t ended. Often, he finds himself thinking of the world that his child is growing up in. “What’s the world we have in store for her? That scares me. The cinema that we create today, people will watch it 50 years later and abuse us. They will say, ‘You were alive in this era when this was happening. Did you record that? You didn’t.’ These thoughts bother us [Chadha and him].” As an actor and a producer, Fazal not only tries to contribute to meaningful cinema, but also is a strong public voice for social dissent. His forthrightness hasn’t come without a cost. “It’s difficult to be an opinionated artiste in the industry. I’ve probably lost work because of that at times, but I don’t regret it. Sometimes, speaking out is not the only answer.” That’s where, he believes, the power of cinema lies. “We’ll make all kinds of cinema, but we have to be smart about it. We can’t wait for the right time to come. The best of things come out in tragic times. We have to crack how we can smartly make [what we want to say].”

A still from the animated short film, Loop Line

Renuka Shahane: One has to be used to dealing with backlash as a public figure

For her latest directorial venture, Loop Line, Renuka Shahane found her hero in a character that was until recently ignored by the movies — the homemaker. The Marathi animated short film explores how homemakers are burdened by mundane chores and labour, and subjected to emotional neglect. “The film comes from my observation of the casual misogyny and disregard to the feelings of housewives that is normalised in patriarchal families,” says the director. Renuka Shahane made her directorial debut with Rita (2009). In 2021, she helmed the Kajol-starrer Tribhanga Shahane’s choice of using hand-drawn animation to tell the story is unusual. The reason is simple, she says. “In India, animation is largely seen as a medium for children’s stories or mythological stories. I wanted to break that perception.” Thematically, Loop Line walks the same path as Sanya Malhotra’s Mrs, which drew praise and backlash for spotlighting the suffering of women in domestic roles. But Shahane — who has a three-decade acting career behind her — is unfazed by the criticism. “If such stories make people uncomfortable, it means they’re doing what they’re supposed to. One has to be used to dealing with backlash as a public figure. One has to arrive at an appreciation of constructive criticism.”

The matter even took a legal turn when Akshay Kumar's company, Cape Of Good Cinema, reportedly sued Rawal for Rs 25 crore. And now, Akshay Kumar has broken his silence on the matter. Akshay Kumar breaks silence During a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Akshay was asked if there are any new and recent developments with regards to Hera Pheri 3. Akshay replied, “Whatever is happening is happening in front of you. Keeping my fingers crossed. I hope everything goes well.” He went on to reassure fans by saying, “Everything will go well only. I know, for sure.” His voice says it all he's genuinely looking so sad regarding whatever things happened with #HeraPheri3 recently but still he's hopeful that everything will go well in the end. pic.twitter.com/Sx68jVJjG0 — Shivam (@KhiladiAKFan) June 17, 2025 Earlier, Paresh had told mid-day, "I know it came as a shock to many. We three make a great combination with Priyadarshanji directing us, but the fact is that I opted out because today I don’t feel like a part of it. It is final for the time being. I always say never say never for anything. One cannot predict what happens in the future." He added, "I love Priyadarshan and have great respect and faith in him as a director. We have done wonderful movies together in the past and will continue to do so. There were no creative differences, nor is there a possibility of having any with him. No amount of money compares to the love and respect of my audience. Right now, I just felt that it is a role I don’t want to do, that’s all." Akshay Kumar about making four films in a year In the same interview, Akshay Kumar, also addressed the criticism against him for doing four films in a year. He stated that he doesn't see any reason why he shouldn't continue, adding that he genuinely enjoys playing diverse characters.           View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by Akshay Kumar (@akshaykumar) Akshay stated, "I like it. I enjoy playing different characters—and why not? Some people complain about me doing four films a year, but I don’t see the reason why I shouldn’t. If I'm getting work, I’m doing it. Some movies work, and some don’t. A person has to work and go to the office every day; he can’t just sit at home and say, 'Ab main thoda ruk jaata hoon.' I want to work. Because I do 4 films, I want to play different characters, and it gives me a lot of happiness." "I want to get into and try and play those characters, to get to work with so many directors and tell stories that haven't been told. I’m very happy I got to tell the story of C. Sankaran Nair. Before that, there were Sky Force, Sarfira, and many more films. I always try to get as close as possible," he added.
