It was an evening filled with glamour and the true celebration of cinematic excellence at the 65th Amazon Filmfare Awards 2020 held at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, Sarusajai, Guwahati on February 15, 2020. The coveted Black Lady was hosted outside Mumbai for the first time in six decades and Guwahati witnessed the finest of Bollywood under one starry roof.

The movie buffs were in for a spectacular visual treat as they witnessed their favourite Bollywood actors come together for power-packed performances. To pay a special tribute to all the Showmen of Bollywood, Ayushmann Khurrana performed to a medley of retro and latest beats of Bollywood like Jeena Yahaan, Yeh Dil na hota bechara, Yahoo Yahoo, Babumoshai among others.

Madhuri Dixit enthralled the audience with a mesmerising act on songs of the golden voices of our country like Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya (Lata Mangeshkar), In Ankhon (Asha Bhosle), Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai (Alka Yagnik) among others.

Varun Dhawan set the stage on fire with his action-packed performance on electrifying songs like Kaavaan Kaavaan, Maa Tujhe Salam, Vande Mataram and Suno Gaur se Duniya Walo among others.

Kartik Aaryan made his debut on the Filmfare stage on songs like One two ka Four, Kali Kali Aankhein, Chaiyya Chaiyya, Oh Oh Jane Jaana, Haan Main Galat, Aahun Aahun among others and swept every girl off their feet with his captivating performance

Filmfare R. D. Burman Award completed 25 years with this edition and to mark this occasion, Ranveer Singh 'vakaoo-ed' the audience by dancing to the beats of classics like Aa dekhke Zara, Chand Mera Di, Mehbooba Mehbooba, Duniya mein logo ko and Yamma yamma.

Vicky Kaushal gave an ode to 65 years of Filmfare Awards by taking the audience on a journey through songs like Nanhe Munne Bachhe teri muththi mein kya hai, Papa kehte hain Bada naam karega, Ruk Ja O dil Deewane, Koi Mil Gaya, Senorita and Malhari among many others.

Ananya Panday bagged the Filmfare Award for the Best Debut for Student of The Year 2 and Pati Patni Aur Woh. And she was, as expected, over the moon and Sky was her limit. Taking to her Instagram account, she shared a few pictures with the prestigious Black Trophy and wrote a long note on how she felt.

Ayushmann Khurrana won the Best Actor award in critics for his character of a police officer in Anubhav Sinha's Article 15. He even penned a heartfelt post on social media.

"When I wrapped up 'Article 15' I had posted a caption on my social media platforms stating that I just wrapped up the most important film of 2019. And Jitesh Pillai had asked me don't you think you're being too pompous. Tonight at this moment I stand corrected and validated. Thanks for your unconditional love Jitesh. Article 15 also won the best film in critics tonight. Thank you Anubhav sir, your new 2.0 version is that of legend. Kisi ne nahi socha tha ki main uniform mein achcha lagoonga (Nobody thought I could look good in uniform). Aapki vision ko salaam (Salute to your vision)." [sic] wrote Khurrana.

Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt swept the Filmfare Awards by winning all the major accolades at the event including the Best Film Award.

While the lead duo of Ranveer and Alia won the Best Male and Female Actor Awards respectively, the director of the flick Zoya Akhtar was awarded Best Director.

Other major awards that Gully Boy received at the event include Best Screenplay, Best Lyrics, and Best Dialogue.

Both the supporting role awards also went to Gully Boy with Amruta Subhash bagging it in the female category and Siddhant Chaturvedi getting it in the male category.

Bhumi Pednekar along with Taapsee Pannu won the award for the Critics Best Actor award (Female) for their film - Saand Ki Aankh.

Govinda won the Excellence In Cinema award at 65th Amazon Filmfare Awards 2020.

Director Aditya Dhar bagged the Best Debut Director for his film Uri: The Surgical Strike, starring Vicky Kaushal.

Bhagyashree's son Abhimanyu Dassani bagged Best Debut Actor award for his film Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota. The mother-son duo had an emotional moment on stage.

The red carpet saw flamboyance like never before as the best of Bollywood strutted for the celebration in their stylish-most avatar. Vaani Kapoor looked gorgeous in a designer saree and turned many heads as she owned the red carpet with her mesmerising looks.
