Born on May 22, 1995, in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, Palaash Muchhal grew up in a close-knit Marwari family where music was practically the family language.
His parents, Amita and Rajkumar Muchhal, played a pivotal role in nurturing him. Palaash is a trained classical singer and well-known Bollywood Music composer.
He is the younger brother of singer Palak Muchhal, known for her songs like Laapataa, Meri Aashiqui, Ice Cream Khaungi, Jumme Ki Raat among others. His bond with his sister remains a major part of his identity.
The siblings have performed together at charity events across India and abroad. They are also known for their philanthropic work, as they have funded heart surgeries of underprivileged kids.
He debuted in industry by composing music for movie Dishkiyaoon, which was released on 28 March 2014. It starred Shilpa Shetty. He has also given music in Bhoothnath Returns, Amit Sahni Ki List, Sweety Weds NRI and Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho.
He has also acted in Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey as Jhunkoo. The film is directed by Ashutosh Gowariker and starring Abhishek Bachchan and Deepika Padukone.
The singer has been in news for wedding news with Smriti. They started dating in 2019. They kept things quiet for a long time and only went public in July 2024.
The announcement comes just weeks after India won the 2025 World Cup, beating South Africa. Mandhana, who was the vice-captain, wrapped the tournament with 434 runs.
Palaash has also shared a beautiful clip of him proposing to Smriti at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Smriti looked gorgeous in a red gown while Palash complemented her in a grey-black suit.
Palash and Smriti are set to marry on 23 November 2025, reportedly in Sangli, Maharashtra, Smriti’s hometown. The ceremony is expected to be intimate, attended by close family members, teammates and industry friends.
During an interaction at the State Press Club on October 17, the music director-filmmaker had said, as reported by The Times of India, “She will soon become the daughter-in-law of Indore... that’s all I want to say.”
