Mercy Trailer: Chris Pratt gets into a showdown with an AI justice system

Sony Pictures Entertainment India and Amazon MGM Studios have dropped the trailer of Chris Pratt-starrer, Mercy - a tense, high-stakes sci-fi courtroom thriller directed by visionary filmmaker Timur Bekmambetov. The film will release in India on 23 January 2026 in English and Hindi, filmed for IMAX and presented in 3D for an immersive theatrical experience. The film is produced by Atlas Entertainment and Bazelevs.  A newly released trailer offers a gripping first look at the near-future world of Mercy, where artificial intelligence governs every aspect of justice. More about Mercy Chris Pratt stars as an LAPD detective who finds himself on the wrong side of the system he helped create. Accused of murdering his wife, he is forced to defend himself before an unyielding A.I. Judge — portrayed on-screen with chilling precision by Rebecca Ferguson. With just 90 minutes to prove his innocence, he must outwit the machine that once earned his trust before it determines his fate. The film features a strong ensemble cast including Annabelle Wallis, Kali Reis, Chris Sullivan, Kylie Rogers, Jeff Pierre, Rafi Gavron, Jamie McBride, and Kenneth Choi. Written by Marco van Belle and produced by Charles Roven, Robert Amidon, and Majd Nassif, Mercy blends sci-fi tension with the urgency of a ticking-clock legal drama. Mercy releases in Indian theatres in English and Hindi on 23rd January, 2026. Chris Pratt on filming with LAPD for Mercy Chris Pratt revealed that he performed stunts while working alongside the police. "It was really incredible. I mean some of the stunt work we did was really great," he shared. The Guardians of the Galaxy star said performing stunts wasn't the most challenging aspect of his time with the Los Angeles Police Department. He also said, "We got to drive, cop cars and do some like cool bar fight stuff, but the majority of the difficulty was just kind of hearing some of these stories and wow, it's a real testament." "Like we kind of take it for granted here we are in New York City, but there's a homicide detective out there right now working a homicide. We don't really see much about that necessarily in the news, but man, these guys are heroes, and the trouble that they encounter and the trauma they see on a day-to-day basis is really, really staggering," he added.

Priyanka Chopra reveals she had to fight Hollywood casting stereotypes

Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who recently attended the Bridge Summit in the UAE, has spoken up about the stereotypes that actors from Eastern countries have to fight in the West. When asked about how actors navigate rejecting lucrative offers that do not align with their long-term vision, in reference to actor Matthew McConaughey turning down multi-million dollar rom-com offers to pursue more diverse roles, the actress talked about her own experience of fighting typecasting in the American entertainment industry. She said, "So when I started looking for or seeking work in America, I cannot tell you how many times I said no to being, you know, the Indian girl who is supposed to speak with the exaggerated accent, be just pretty and, you know, sort of ornamental, that girl. And I was so surprised by how many, like, characters were written with that stereotype. And I really had to fight that for a couple of years until I got Quantico, which is a TV show of mine, where I played an FBI agent”. The actress emphasized how her show Quantico proved to be transformative because it wasn't written with ethnicity as a defining characteristic. She further mentioned, “I could have been from anywhere. My background could have been anything. It was written for an American person. And I just had to, you know, play an American girl. And I'm an actor. I could do that. But it took that many no's for me to get my first break, which changed everything for me, because now I was seen just as a commercial actor, not as the Indian actor. But I had to fight that stereotype”. She continued, “And I know so many... So much talent who go from Eastern countries have to fight the stereotype of casting in Hollywood. But, you know, like, we're out there. There are so many of us now making and doing so much incredible work. But that was really tough”. She also shared advice for aspiring actors and professionals, as she said, "So I think you have to decide. What's the cohort you want to live with? What's the cohort you want to work with? What kind of room do you want to be in? What are the kind of people you want to be surrounded by? And then your decisions become the basis of that. The no and the yes become the basis that”, she added. This story has been sourced from a third party syndicated feed, agencies. In a recent interview, the Euphoria star sent out a message to all those who have been targeting her appearance over the years. During her interview, Sweeney was asked to select a "beauty rumour" that she would like to debunk, to which she clarified, "Let's debunk them all. I mean, I have never gotten work done. I am so scared of needles, you have no idea," as quoted by People. Aiming at social media individuals who have been comparing her pictures from her young days and recent ones, she added, "You cannot compare a photo of me from when I was 12 to a photo of me at 26 with professional makeup and lighting! Of course, I'm going to look different. Everybody on social media is insane." Angels Fallen Warriors of Peace poster

Angels Fallen: Warriors of Peace starring Cuba Gooding premieres on OTT

Cuba Gooding Jr’s Angels Fallen: Warriors of Peace premieres on Lionsgate Play this December 12 Get ready for a war where heaven and hell collide. Angels Fallen: Warriors of Peace, a high‑impact fusion of modern warfare and apocalyptic fantasy, storms onto Lionsgate Play this December 12th. From director Ali Zamani, this action‑fantasy film thrusts you into a world scarred by the Iraq War, where an ex‑soldier’s second chance at life becomes the last line of defence against an army of the dead. This is not just a mission; it is a spiritual battleground fought with bullets, blades, and belief. Plot of Angels Fallen: Warriors of Peace The story tracks Gabriel (Josh Burdett), an Iraq War veteran haunted by trauma, who receives a mysterious calling from a higher power and is drawn into a covert mission to stop a fallen angel from raising a demonic army that could wipe out humanity. He assembles his old platoon and joins forces with a legendary cadre known as the Warriors of Peace, whose experience in supernatural combat may be the only thing standing between Earth and annihilation. Among his most enigmatic allies is Balthazar, played by Academy Award-winner Cuba Gooding Jr., a powerful celestial figure whose true motives are as intriguing as the war he is trying to prevent. Cuba Gooding Jr speaks about the film Speaking about how he came onto the project, Cuba Gooding Jr. said, “It was interesting because they had completed most of the movie when I came aboard.  So the advantage of that was that the directors sent me some of the footage to see these creatures in this world in its actual space and activity. And they were like, we're going to implement your character into this world that we created of demons versus angels. And I was like, that's awesome." Talking about his excitement at working with the Directors, Gooding Jr. continued, “The Zamani brothers, as we know, Ali, who's the director, and his brother, who produces Zeus, they come from that visual world of doing commercials and having established themselves in their world. So they knew exactly what they wanted to do. They knew exactly how they wanted it to look. And it was one of those things where you were like, wow, man, if for no other reason, I just want to be in business with these guys so that I know what their next thing is.”
