Mumbai News LIVE Updates: Fire breaks out in bedroom of Thane apartment, no casualties reported
A fire broke out in a bedroom of an apartment located in a ground-plus-fourth-floor Vinayak Apartment at Shivai Nagar, Thane, at 3.48 pm on Wednesday, according to information received by the disaster management cell. The fire reportedly started near the pooja area and a cupboard in the bedroom. Staff from the Mahavitaran (Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited, fire brigade (with one fire engine and a rescue vehicle), disaster management cell (with one utility vehicle), and employees of the Mahanagar Gas Company were present at the scene. No injuries were reported in the incident. However, the fire caused damage to the pooja area, cupboard, mattresses, electrical wiring, and other materials in the room. The blaze was completely extinguished by fire brigade personnel and the disaster management cell staff by around 4 pm, and the situation is now under control.
