Two persons were killed and six others injured in an accident involving a car and a truck on the Samruddhi Expressway in Maharashtra`s Thane district on Thursday morning, an official said. The accident took place near Vashind in Shahapur taluka on the high-speed carriageway that runs between Mumbai and Nagpur, he said, according to PTI.

Hundreds of people, including inconsolable family members and friends, gave an emotional farewell to First Officer Clive Kunder, co-pilot of the Air India plane that crashed in Ahmedabad last week, and flight attendant Roshni Songhare whose last rites were held on Thursday. The last rites of Kunder were conducted at Sewri Christian Cemetery in Mumbai in the afternoon, while Songhare, who was also on board the ill-fated aircraft, was cremated in adjoining Thane district, hours after their mortal remains were brought from Ahmedabad, a week after the tragedy, PTI reported.
