The kin of an elderly woman found near a garbage dump in Mumbai`s Aarey Colony were traced on Monday and were being questioned on the chain of events that led to her reaching the area, a police official said. The woman, in her 60s or 70s, was found lying among piles of rotting garbage on Saturday morning, following which her images were circulated on social media etc in an effort to identify her and reunite her with kin, the Aarey police station official said. "We traced her family members to Poisar in Kandivali after a man from there recognised the woman as someone who used to occasionally sit outside his shop. They claim she had left home and that she had not been dumped there by them. They also claimed she had left home in this manner earlier as well. We are questioning them to verify their claims," he said. (PTI)
