In a major breakthrough to counter cybercrime, the North Cyber Police have arrested three individuals from Gujarat. The accused who have been arrested were involved in a “digital arrest” scam that duped a retired Air India official of Rs. 67 lakh. The alleged scammers impersonated Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officers and manipulated the victim through fear, deception, and fake documents.

In a significant drug bust, a 34-year-old Nigerian woman was arrested by the Versova Police on Monday.  The woman has been arrested by police for allegedly possessing 418 grams of cocaine, including 30 capsules, with a total estimated value of Rs 1.42 crore. The accused woman was reportedly transporting and selling the drugs in Versova.

Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Abu Azmi has moved the Bombay High Court seeking the quashing of two "politically motivated" FIRs registered against him over his remarks on Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, reported news agency PTI. A bench of Justices A S Gadkari and Rajesh Patil issued a notice to the police on Monday and posted the matter for further hearing after four weeks.
