Mumbai News LIVE Updates: World Bank, Tanzanian officials visit BMC schools

Officials from Tanzania, along with members of the World Bank, visited the civic schools in Mumbai on Thursday to observe teaching and learning practices and explore ideas for application in Tanzania’s education system. The delegation, guided by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC’s) Deputy Commissioner (Education) Dr Prachi Jambhekar, visited the civic-run schools at Govandi Station, Ghatla and Azizbagh schools in Chembur. They appreciated various classroom activities and other educational initiatives being implemented in the schools. Education Officer Sujata Khare, Deputy Education Officer, Superintendent (Schools), Administrative Officer (Schools), Departmental Inspector, and other dignitaries were also present. The visitors expressed interest in adopting some of the best practices from Mumbai’s municipal schools to enhance the quality of education in Tanzania.
