The Disaster Management Cell also released an emergency helpline number, 1070, for relatives and affected citizens to contact for information regarding the tragedy. This comes after an Ahmedabad-London Air India flight, carrying 242 passengers and crew, crashed into a medical college complex in Ahmedabad minutes after takeoff on Thursday. While it`s feared all on board may have been killed in what could be one of India`s worst air tragedies, there is currently no official count of fatalities. Air India stated that among the 230 passengers, there were 169 Indians, 53 British, 7 Portuguese, and 1 Canadian national, with the remaining 12 people being two pilots and 10 crew members: PTI
