Tensions flared at Dadar's kabutarkhana as members of the Jain community and local residents staged a protest against the BMC’s move to cover the pigeon-feeding spot. Despite the protest being called off, people tore down the cover and broke the bamboo structure, and resumed feeding pigeons. The incident drew swift police intervention, but the situation at the site remains tense and unclear. (Pics/ Ashish Raje)

Cops intervene after the tarpaulin of the tent atop the feeding spot is torn; agitators insist that feeding pigeons shouldn’t be considered an offence. However, the situation around the Dadar kabutarkhana still looks cryptic.
