Doctors, nurses and other healthcare staff are in the front-line of the war against coronavirus, risking their lives to protect the lives of others. These heroes have been staying away from their families for weeks, attending scores of patients without proper equipments to protect themselves from the virus, but still carrying on in an effort to save as many lives as possible. In March, 29 staff including three doctors and 26 nurses working in Wockhardt Hospital in Mumbai Central tested positive for Coronavirus.

A helpline started by the doctors of Bombay Hospital that was launched around two weeks ago has already received more than 1 lakh phone calls from across the country with COVID-19 related queries. Consultant doctors from various departments of Bombay Hospital are part of the helpline service and apart from creating awareness, they hope to reduce the stress on the civic hospitals that already overburdened with screening and testing suspected patients.
