Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated the event at Vidhana Soudha, extending his best wishes. The program was graced by Minister Shivraj Thangadagi, alongside senior officials from the Kannada and Culture Department.

Namma Jaatre's inception is part of the Unboxing Bengaluru Hubba initiative, promising a delightful experience for attendees.

The event commenced with a grand procession, the Bhavya Meravanige, featuring folk dancers, musicians, Rathas, Elephants, floral Pallakkis, and Bullock Carts, marching from Vidhana Soudha to Ravindra Kalakshetra.

Minister Shivaraj S Tangadagi, from the Kannada and Culture Department, officially launched Namma Jaatre at 11 AM at Ravindra Kalakshetra on December 9.

Spanning across two days, December 9 and 10, Namma Jaatre operates from 11 AM to 8 PM at Ravindra Kalakshetra. Entry to this cultural extravaganza is free for all.

The event simulates a traditional folk festival atmosphere, offering diverse craft stalls selling an array of authentic regional products, including natural and banana fibre items, Bidri articles, leather puppets, Channapatna toys, and more.

A 'Grandhige Angadi' at the market square offers an assortment of items like Kumkum, Karpoora, Bangles, and other traditional goods, providing attendees with a glimpse into the region's cultural richness.

A standout feature of Namma Jaatre is the provision for free Bullock Cart rides, providing an immersive experience of Karnataka's heritage.

Throughout the event, various traditional art forms like Somanna Kunitha, Huli Vesha, Pooja Kunitha, Jagalige, Yakshagana, and diverse puppet shows will entertain attendees, highlighting Karnataka's rich puppetry traditions.
