  • Urvashi Dholakia: Bigg Boss winner Urvashi Dholakia, known for her roles in television shows such as Kabhii Sautan Kabhii Sahelii, Kasauti Zindagi Ki and others, was only 16 when she got married. She gave birth to twin sons a year after her marriage. Urvashi and her husband divorced when her sons were six months old and she has been raising them ever since.

  • Suchitra Krishnamoorthi: The Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa actress married actor-filmmaker Shekhar Kapur in 1999. The actress-singer-writer-painter divorced in 2007 and then raised their daughter Kaveri Kapur all by herself. Kaveri is already making a name for herself in the music industry.

  • Sarika: Kamal Haasan's second wife, actress Sarika, gave birth to daughter Shruti Haasan before their nuptials. Shruti was born in 1986, after which they tied the knot two years later in 1988. Daughter Akshara Haasan was born after that. Kamal divorced Sarika in 2004 after which she went on to live with both her daughters.

  • Amrita Singh: Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh got married in 1991. They have two children - daughter Sara Ali Khan and son Ibrahim Ali Khan. Saif and Amrita got divorced in 2004 after which she raised her kids as a single mother. Sara, just like her parents, has already stepped into the film industry.

  • Malaika Arora: The Chaiyya Chaiyya actress split with Arbaaz Khan after 18 years of marriage. Their son Arhaan turned 17 this year. While Arbaaz has moved on and is dating model Giorgia Andriani, Malaika is in relationship with actor Arjun Kapoor.

  • Sushmita Sen: Former Miss Universe and Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen adopted daughter Renee in 2000 when the former was only 25 years of age. She then adopted younger daughter Alisah in 2010. Sushmita Sen is dating model Rohman Shawl.

  • Mahima Chaudhary: The Pardes actress married architect-businessman Bobby Mukherji in 2006 and separated in 2013. The couple has a daughter, Ariana. Talking about her motherhood, she had said, "I really enjoy being a hands-on mother. It is the best role I have ever played in my life. Motherhood has made me more empathetic, compassionate, patient and selfless."

  • Kanika Kapoor: The Baby Doll singer is also a single mother. She wed NRI businessman Raj Chandok when she was only 19. Kanika shifted to London after marriage where she and her husband had three children. They divorced in 2012 after which Kapoor gained sole custody of their kids and returned to India.

  • Karisma Kapoor: The actress married Delhi-based businessman Sanjay Kapur in 2003. They filed for divorce in 2014, after eleven years of marriage. Karisma then raised daughter Samaira Kapoor and son Kiaan Raj Kapoor in Mumbai. Karisma and Sanjay officially divorced in 2016.

  • Pooja Bedi: Veteran actor Kabir Bedi's daughter Pooja Bedi wed businessman Farhan Furniturewalla in 1990. They divorced in 2003 after thirteen years of marriage and Pooja became a single mom to daughter Alaya and son Omar. Alaya is now Bollywood-ready and will soon be seen in Saif Ali Khan's Jawaani Jaaneman.

  • Mona Ambegaonkar: Television actress and noted theatre personality Mona Ambegaonkar gave birth to a daughter in 2005. The latter is allegedly her love child with CID actor Dayanand Shetty.

  • Neena Gupta: The veteran Bollywood and television actress was in a relationship with legendary West Indian cricketer Sir Vivian Richards. The couple has a love child - daughter Masaba Gupta, who is now a noted fashion designer. Neena Gupta raised her daughter all by herself. She had recently spoken about the professional hurdles that she faced in the due course, "I had a child out of wedlock and that proved me as a strong-headed woman, which I am. But back then, a strong woman could only play a vamp. So I ended up playing mostly negative roles in films. Girls, if you want to smoke, do not smoke in public or do not be physically friendly to a male friend also... all these are perceived as a sign of strong, liberated, independent woman... that might just offer you a certain type of role."

  • Poonam Dhillon: The actress, who was a leading actress in Bollywood films of the 1970s and 1980s, wed filmmaker Ashok Thakeria in 1988. They have two children - daughter Paloma and son Anmol. Poonam and her husband Ashok divorced in 1997, after which she raised both her children by herself.

  • Kamya Panjabi: Television actress Kamya Panjabi divorced her husband Bunty Negi in 2013, a month before entering the controversial reality show Bigg Boss. Kamya and Bunty have a daughter named Aara, who is 11. Kamya is now married to Shalabh Dang.

  • Raveena Tandon: Though currently married to Anil Thadani, in 1995, she adopted two girls at age 19, named Pooja and Chhaya, who were 11 and 8 years old respectively. Now she has turned grandmother to older daughter Pooja's children. After tying the knot with film distributor Anil Thadani in 2004, Raveena became a mother to a daughter Rasha and son Ranbir Vardhan.
