In the first innings of the second Test match against England, Team India's opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal played a knock of 87 runs in 107 balls, which included 13 boundaries
However, he fell short of just 10 runs of breaking legendary Rahul Dravid's record of becoming the fastest batsman to score 2,000 runs for India in the longest format of the game
Earlier, the left-hander required 97 runs to reach the feat in 39 innings, which would have helped him to become the fastest Indian to complete 2,000 Test runs. Dravid took 40 innings to achieve the feat
Currently, having featured in 21 Test matches and 39 innings, Jaiswal has amassed 1,990 runs with an average of 53.78. He also has five centuries and 11 half-centuries, with a top score of an unbeaten 214 runs
In the second innings, Jaiswal has a chance to equal Dravid's record. The record for the fastest 2,000 Test runs is in the name of Sir Don Bradman, who took just 15 matches and 22 innings to achieve the feat
