Hansal Mehta&rsquo;s latest film, Citylights, has collected Rs 3.5crore in the first weekend of its release. Exhibitor Rajesh Thadani says, &ldquo;Citylights started on slow note on Friday, but it picked up on Saturday and Sunday. The IPL final did affect the film&rsquo;s business but it has done decent business. Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand&nbsp; Ho Gayi barely crossed the Rs 1crore mark at the box office.&rdquo;

What&rsquo;s interesting is that Mehta&rsquo;s latest offering has done better than his National Award-winning film, Shahid. However trade analyst Taran Adarsh feels that the business of the film was not upto expectations. He says, &ldquo;The film would have done better if it was feel good cinema. Citylights is a good film and has won critical acclaim but that has not really translated into similarly encouraging business that one would&rsquo;ve expected. X Men: Days of Future Past, on the other hand, has fared better in its second week than Citylights in its first week.&rsquo;&rsquo;
Meanwhile, Tiger Shroff&rsquo;s Heropanti has collected around Rs 42 crore at the box office. An exhibitor says, &ldquo;Apart from the music being a hit, it was Tiger&rsquo;s dancing and action sequences that appealed to the audiences.&rdquo;
