One of Bollywood's most loved couples, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, have been trending on social media today courtesy reports of the 'Padmavati' duo splitting up.

Rumours of Ranveer and Deepika breaking up sent their fans into a tizzy. But now, according to a new media report, this buzz seems to be a publicity stunt for 'Padmavati'.
It all started with a Deccan Chronicle report that quoted a source saying Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone have parted ways due to their hectic work schedule that kept them away from each other for long periods of time.
A source told Deccan Chronicle, "Ranveer and Deepika have been together for five years. They are no longer a couple. There was no bitter parting. They just drifted apart. They both tried to make it work with the help of their supportive families who wanted to ensure that the relationship made it to the altar. That was one of the problems with the relationship. Ranveer wanted a marriage. Deepika completely opposed the idea, arguing that marriage would affect her career at its prime."
"Even when they were shooting in separate continents, he would fly down to be with her whenever possible. He gave Deepika lots of space and never allowed any suspicion to creep in even when rumours of a relationship with Vin Diesel reached his ears," the source added.
Now, according to a report in India.com, a source from the sets of 'Padmavati' says, "These kind of reports do the rounds every few months. Earlier this year also there were similar reports. Ranveer and Deepika are both part of Padmavati and while they do not shoot together since they have no scenes with each other in the film, the rest of the crew working on the film is the same."
The source added, "If there was any truth to this, people on the sets would have known about it. The film is all set to release in just a few months and it is so important to keep the buzz going around a project. For all you know, this might be a non-creative PR's job at getting some publicity for the two stars and their film."
Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukonehave always kept the media guessing about their relationship. Be it accompanying each other to film events and parties or their PDA on social media, they have never confirmed that they are dating. While Ranveer and Dippy were always open about their previous relationships, it is confusing as to why they are keeping their relationship a big secret from the media.
Ranveer and Deepika will be seen together in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie 'Padmavati'. However, they will not feature together in any scene in the movie, as claimed by the team of 'Padmavati'. While Deepika will play the titular role of Rani Padmavati in the movie, Ranveer will play Alauddin Khilji and Shahid Kapoor, her husband, Raja Rawal Ratan Singh. The movie is slated to release on November 19.
