It has been a while since Karan Johar and Tarun Mansukhani have been planning to come together for a film again. After their 'Dostana' together in 2008, there have been man speculations about them doing a film together.

They had even announced a sequel to 'Dostana' which eventually got shelved. Finally, Mansukhani and KJo are ready for a script and they have signed Sushant Singh Rajput and Jacqueline Fernandez to play the main lead.

But Jacky was apparently not the first choice. KJo and Tarun were keen on Katrina to play the female lead but she had to turn down the offer due to her commitment elsewhere.

A source close to the actress says, "Yes, Katrina was approached for the film since she was a perfect fit for the role and she shares a great equation with both Karan Johar and Tarun Mansukhani. She had to turn down the film as she has signed another film, dates of which were clashing with this project. It was then that the makers approached Jacqueline. Though Katrina has high regard for the makers, she has signed something big and committed her time there."
