Some films have it all, don't they? As if grossing Rs 350 crore worldwide wasn't good enough, 'Happy New Year' ('HNY') has found another reason to be glad about.
'Happy New Year' bags another honour
The Library of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences has officially selected the screenplay of 'HNY' for its permanent Core Collection. Following this honour, the Oscar library will add the screenplay which is accessible to students, filmmakers, writers, actors and others from the field of cinema, for the purpose of research.
Over the years, this collection has grown to include scripts for more than 11,000 produced films from 1910 to the present. Interestingly, this isn't the first film starring Shah Rukh Khan to make it to the collection.
Earlier, 'Devdas' (2002) and 'Chak De! India' (2007) was selected too. Along with him, 'HNY' also starred Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani and Vivaan Shah.
