Oops! It was a gaffe that was of 'Jumbo' proportions.

Monday night saw former India pace spearhead and Delhi Daredevils skipper Zaheer Khan announce his engagement with Bollywood actress Sagarika Ghatge.

"Never laugh at your wife's choices. You are one of them. Partners for life!!! #engaged," Zaheer wrote on his twitter handle, after putting up a picture with the 'Chak De! India' actress.

The 38-year-old Zaheer is captaining IPL franchise Delhi Daredevils in the ongoing 10th edition of the league.

Several of his colleagues -- past and present -- took to social media to congratulate him. But a couple -- his former teammate Anil Kumble and current franchise Delhi Daredevils embarrassed themselves by tagging the wrong person while wishing them. They actually got him engaged to senior journalist Sagarika Ghose.

Both the Delhi team and Kumble realised their mistake soon and deleted their posts, but not before Twitterati had spotted it. And then it went viral with Twitterverse having fun at the cost of DD and the legendary leg-spinner.
