mid-day has learnt that Pollard was yesterday formally approached for a special appearance on the Nach Baliye-7 which is co-hosted by Kings XI Punjab’s co-owner Preity Zinta.
A source from the television programme said: “Yes, Pollard is approached, but he has not yet confirmed his participation. He is still thinking about it.” Pollard is likely to appear with his wife Jenna Ali.
Although scheduling would be a tricky issue for the organisers, with Mumbai Indians playing almost non-stop cricket ever since their Indian Premier League-8 opening clash against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 8, the source was confident of squeezing the special episode in Mumbai Indian's tight schedule. Once he gives a confirmation, we will work out a convenient date for him wherein his main priority which is cricket is not affected,” said the source.
Pollard has been with Mumbai Indians from the first year itself. His popularity in Mumbai is as much as any Indian player. Every time he walks out to bat, a huge roar is guaranteed from the Wankhede Stadium crowd. Pollard will turn 28 on May 12.
