The third instalment of 'Kya Kool Hain Hum' starring Tusshar Kapoor and Aftab Shivdasani was slated to release in July first week. However, since Nikhil Advani’s 'Hero' had already announced the date, they had to postpone the release to get a solo release.

A source says, "Earlier it was decided that the film will release in July first week since there was no big release at that time but 'Hero' starring Suraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty is now releasing on same day. We had to shift the date. We were not keen to have clash with any film as it is an adult comedy and division of screens would have been unfair. Later, for next two months, we couldn’t get solo release date and had to push the release."
It is said that the makers were also keen to have a holiday weekend release in August, but couldn’t manage to get it as the distributors have already committed to the other films. A source says, “ So far, 'Brothers' and 'Phantom' are two big films up for release in August. Therefore, it was difficult to get clean release in August too. Finally after a meeting with distributor, we have managed to get 2000 screens to release our film in second (11 September) week of September.”
Tanveer Bookwala, chief creative officer of the production of the company. says, “We are also ecstatic about having found a release date worthy of our franchise and hope that it finds the love and acceptance of its predecessors.”
