Mumbai Crime: 3 held for making 11-yr-old disrobe at knifepoint

Three people were arrested for allegedly threatening an 11-year-old girl with a sharp object and taking her nude pictures, when the child went to answer nature’s call inside the bushes at Ganpat Patil Nagar in Borivli (West).

All the accused are known to the victim and were residents of the same locality in Borivli (West). As per the FIR filed by the victim’s mother, when she returned from work on May 3, a neighbour informed her that her daughter seemed unwell and in a state of shock. She rushed to her shanty and found her daughter sitting in a corner.

The girl then narrated the incident to her mother. When she had gone to perform nature’s call, Ramdhani Ramjanak Harijan (19), Kamal Deenanath Sinha (40) and Eshwar Karegole (24) caught her and asked her to disrobe. When the victim refused, she was threatened with dire consequences with a sharp object placed on her neck.

The girl was forced to disrobe and began crying as one of the accused started clicking photographs. But, when a woman passer-by heard her screams and stumbled upon the scene, the trio ran away. All the accused were picked up after the girl identified them.

They were booked under various sections of the IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, and remanded to judicial custody.
