On December 31, 2013, two men entered the victim’s house and at knifepoint, took naked pictures on their cameras, the victim claimed. She kept quiet about it as she was afraid of making an issue of it.

Later, she learnt that many of her relatives had received her nude pictures in envelopes. “The victim and her husband also received emails with her nude pictures, and threatening internet calls,” said a police officer from the Cyber Cell of the Mumbai crime branch.

The victim approached the police and registered a complaint. “We started investigations and on the basis of the Internet Protocol (IP) address, arrested the accused who turned out to be her relative, as well as her business partner,” said the cyber cell police officer.
