In the wake of Friday’s terror attacks in Paris, security has been beefed up across Mumbai. All police stations and crime branch units have been asked to check security measures in their respective zones.
An IPS officer, on condition of anonymity, said, “There is no threat or alert, but the Paris attacks are similar to the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai, which is why security has been upped. A review of security arrangements at important places will also be carried out.”
On Friday night, eight terrorists organized six coordinated strikes across Paris, leaving 128 dead and 200 wounded. In Mumbai, a security check of offices of foreign consulates were carried out.
