After a 22-year-old woman confided in her husband about being raped by his brother-in-law, he ripped her clothes off and asked the rapist to repeat the act in front of his family
A 22-year-old bride’s dreams of wedded bliss were wiped out after her husband gifted her to his brother-in-law, who raped her twice — once in front of the family.

The horrific incident took place in Boisar in Palghar district, where the woman got married on July 7.
Just two days later, her husband’s brother-in-law (married to his sister) came home, and upon finding her alone, forced himself on the woman.
Shaken by the experience, she called her husband and told him what had happened.

That night, the husband called his brother-in-law home and confronted him about the incident. But if the victim thought she was going to get justice, she was wrong.
“The victim said that her husband asked his brother-in-law to show him how he had raped her. When the victim resisted, her husband held her and tore off her clothes,” said an officer from Boisar police station.
The family members — including the rapist’s wife — just stood by as the survivor was raped once again.
Unable to digest the torment, she immediately visited the local maulvi who had arranged the marriage for her, and told him about what had happened. He advised her to complain to the police. That very night, the Boisar police registered an FIR and arrested both men under Section 376 (rape) of the IPC. They were remanded in police custody till July 16.
