Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan's 'Kedarnath' delayed?

Those hoping to see Saif Ali Khan's daughter Sara make her debut on the big screen will have to wait a tad longer. The makers of Kedarnath have postponed the film's release from June 2018 to year-end. The shoot has been extended owing to an important sequence in the Sushant Singh Rajput-starrer.

The devastating floods that hit Uttarakhand in 2013, form an important plot point in Abhishek Kapoor's love story that is set in Kedarnath. The sequence depicting the natural disaster will be shot in Mumbai. A source from the unit says, "The makers felt that the sequence deserves a grander canvas. So, they have decided to recreate the town of Kedarnath in Mumbai. The set will be erected by February next year. Abhishek intends to wrap up the sequence by June. This has, in turn, pushed the release. "

The team is also roping in a Los Angeles-based VFX team to ensure that the magnitude of the natural disaster is not lost on the big screen. "Gallons of water will be used to create the flood effect. The sequence will be high on VFX," adds the source. Producer Prernaa Arora confirms, "It's going to be a challenging shoot. I completely believe in Gattu's [Kapoor] vision."
