Kusha Kapila has shut down rumours of patching up with comedian Samay Raina after an edited picture of the two went viral online. Calling the image "fake and seeded", the actor-influencer revisited the controversy surrounding Ashish Solanki's Pretty Good Roast Show, saying the jokes left her humiliated and that it took years of therapy to move past them.

Reposting a post claiming that she had patched up with Samay, Kusha wrote, "Fake and seeded. My face is AI-altered. Why would anyone spend any money doing this is beyond me. The way the incel internet will stoop so low to minimise me is laughable at this point (sic)."

"Kitna seeding karoge, meme accounts? Ruk jao. Will I have to reveal the jokes at this point to justify my anger? Wapas case ho jayega, bhai. Move on, bhai. Maine kisi party mein hi nahi jaana ab (How much more are you going to keep seeding this, meme accounts? Stop already. Will I have to reveal the jokes at this point just to justify why I was angry? It would lead to another legal case… Move on. I won't attend any parties anymore)."

In another Story, Kusha shared her account of what happened with Samay. She said they were once friends, but things changed after they appeared as guest panellists on Ashish Solanki's Pretty Good Roast Show. "There was no script shared, no contract signed, and no jokes shared beforehand. Everything was done in good faith. I had no idea what was coming my way (sic)," she wrote.

Kusha also stood by her stance that the jokes made at her expense were "horrible". She wrote, "The jokes made at my expense were horrible, and I stand by my stance that they should have been censored. I blocked both Samay and Ashish. It has taken me a lot of time and therapy to undo the shame and ridicule I felt that day. I genuinely wish that roast had never happened to me."

Kusha also revealed how "padhe likhe boys" cracked nasty jokes about her and kept asking her about the roast in a demeaning way. She recalled, "Over the last two years, post the roast and my decision to censor the jokes, boys on the internet have made jokes about my private parts, speculated that the jokes cracked were likely rape jokes, and made fun of my personal life. I don't need anyone to take a stand for me, nor will I run a PR campaign, nor will I do any seeding because there is a very real life waiting to be lived."

Kusha Kapila's roast by Samay

Samay Raina was among the panellists on Ashish Solanki's show, where his friend Kusha Kapila appeared as a judge in 2024. During Kapila's appearance on the show, Samay made several jokes about Kusha's divorce and sex life. The jokes were so brutal that Ashish had to censor them before posting the video on his YouTube channel.

Reacting to the controversy, Kusha Kapila said she hadn't seen the roast script beforehand because she trusted her friends. She added that while she endured the jokes during the live show, she wasn't comfortable with them being viewed by millions, as some were dehumanising and "shockingly unkind."
