For Lara and Rhea Raj, Lollapalooza India 2027 is shaping up to be more than just another festival gig. The sisters will be taking the stage at the Mumbai edition next year, bringing their individual musical journeys to the same homecoming moment.
Lara, who is part of global girl group KATSEYE, will make her India debut with the group when the festival returns to Mumbai's Mahalaxmi Racecourse on January 23 and 24. Rhea, an independent singer-songwriter, is also part of the festival's 2027 line-up as a solo act. The announcement marks a particularly special moment for the Raj sisters, who have previously worked together on music and have long shared a creative bond.
KATSEYE's Mumbai performance comes as the group continues to expand its international footprint. For Indian fans, however, the biggest talking point is likely to be seeing Lara perform on home soil for the first time as part of the globally popular girl group. The current announced active line-up includes Lara alongside Daniela Avanzini, Megan Skiendiel and Yoonchae Jeung, while Sophia Laforteza and Manon Bannerman's availability for the India dates remains uncertain due to their respective hiatuses.
While Lara is bringing KATSEYE's pop spectacle to the festival, older sister Rhea Raj will have a stage of her own. The Los Angeles-based artist has built her career as a singer-songwriter and producer, releasing music independently and developing a sound rooted in pop and electropop.
The sisters' musical relationship goes beyond simply being family. Rhea has previously worked with Lara on music, with the younger Raj contributing vocals and production to some of her sister's projects. In an interview with Vogue India, Rhea also spoke about their creative dynamic, describing their shared studio space as a place where they can exchange ideas while giving each other room to develop individually.
Now, their separate musical paths are converging at one of India's biggest multi-genre festivals. With KATSEYE making its India debut and Rhea performing as a solo artist, Lollapalooza India 2027 will give fans a chance to watch the Raj sisters represent two different sides of the same musical family. Lollapalooza returns to Mumbai's Mahalaxmi Racecourse on January 23 and 24, 2027.
