Actress Shweta Tiwari recently discussed her relationship with daughter Palak Tiwari, revealing that the two are like buddies. Shweta spoke with Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa for their YouTube channel Bharti TV about her parenting approach, explaining how she used to track Palak's phone and force her to complete home duties in exchange for money.

Shweta's parenting tips for Palak

Shweta stated that she was not strict, although there were some rules. She emphasised the significance of discipline and punctuality in Palak's life, particularly when it came to setting boundaries. She stated that if Palak pledged to return home by 1 a.m., she should be at the door at that time, not simply leaving the party.

She admitted to following Palak's phone, saying, "I was a little concerned because she is a girl and society is weird. Even though she does not drink, those around her do. She received her first phone when she arrived at college. She was 16 when she received her makeup. She used to wear no makeup to school functions."

Shweta would pay extra for household chores to Palak

Shweta further shared how she managed Palak's expenses and helped her with financial planning, "She was given a budget. For instance, I allowed her to spend ₹25,000, and if she went from ₹25,000 to ₹30,000, she knew that she would be asked to do household chores to compensate for it. There was a full list of chores. For cleaning her bathroom, she would get ₹1,000, ₹500 for making the bed, and ₹1,000 for doing the dishes. So she would do all of these things, and when she knew she was going to go over budget, she would do extra chores beforehand."

Shweta revealed that even today, she manages Palak's finances; she doesn't let her spend all her money. Instead, she immediately invests a sum of her paycheck as soon as it arrives. She said, "I would restrict her from spending all, I only give her a certain amount, the rest I either put in savings or make investments on her behalf. I believe this is the only age and time when she can earn enough and focus on hard work. Later, this same amount will help her only when she wants to spend time off from work. I have also made sure that she travels independently and not by car. When she shows a tantrum, I ask her to take a cab or rickshaw if the car isn't available."

Shweta established herself in the television industry with her portrayal of Prerna Sharma in Kasautii Zindagii Kay. She went on to participate in Bigg Boss season 4 and won the show. Shweta became one of the highest-paid actors on Indian television after portraying notable roles such as Sweety Ahluwalia in Parvarrish, Bindiya Thakur in Begusarai, Guneet Sikka Sharma in Mere Dad Ki Dulhan, and Aparajita Singh in Main Hoon Aparajita.
