Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin surprised fans by announcing that they are expecting their first child together on the red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival 2026 in May. The couple flaunted the baby bump, revealing the good news to the world. And now, the couple has shared the gender of their baby-to-be.
During the debut episode of Sprouse's new podcast Wildmen, the 33-year-old actor revealed that he and his pregnant wife are expecting a baby girl. During the podcast, Palvin asked her husband, "Do you want to share?" The Riverdale actor revealed they are having a girl, saying, "Yeah, we've been calling her principessa." Sprouse then added, "Which I don't know why that's been our like...well, it's Italian for princess."
He further continued, "But no, we are having a baby girl, which I'm very excited about. I'm excited to be a girl dad, actually."
Palvin went on to say that having a baby girl is going to "mellow" Sprouse out. "You're going to be so stressed about the princess," she said, to which he replied, "I just also unironically love a tea party." "He loves a high tea," Palvin joked.
The two added that they're still going "back and forth" on names and are still not sure what they're going to call "principessa."
Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin met at a party in 2017. Later, the former Disney Channel star and Victoria's Secret Angel started dating in June 2018. Soon after, Palvin opened up about her relationship to Vogue Australia in November 2018, saying she was "very much in love right now. I feel like I found the perfect guy. He's very kind and gentle."
The couple confirmed their engagement in June 2023 and walked down the aisle a month later in a ceremony in Hungary.
Back in May 2026, Sprouse and Palvin announced that they are expecting their first baby together during their appearance at the 79th Annual Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France.
The couple posed together in a few photos at the red carpet while attending the festival. Palvin was seen in a light blue dress featuring cap sleeves and a feather skirt. She posed for the cameras with her hand under her belly, highlighting her baby bump. Meanwhile, Sprouse could be seen posing with his wife, suited up in a tuxedo, placing one arm around Palvin.
