Hollywood actor Brad Pitt has showered praise on his four-legged co-star in the latest behind-the-scenes featurette from his upcoming survival thriller Heart of the Beast. Released by Paramount Pictures, the new video offers fans a glimpse into the making of the film while highlighting the bond between Pitt's character and Odin, the German Shepherd who plays his loyal combat dog.

In the featurette, Angelina Jolie's ex-husband describes working alongside the canine actor as a "special experience" and even jokes that Odin is the real star of the film. The actor is seen sharing light-hearted moments with the dog between takes, while the video also showcases the intense training and trust required to bring their on-screen relationship to life.

The film centres on Special Forces officer James Belmont, played by Pitt, whose survival depends on the companionship of his military dog after a devastating plane crash leaves them stranded in the unforgiving Alaskan wilderness. Battling freezing temperatures, dangerous terrain and the odds stacked against them, the pair must rely on each other to make it home alive.

Survival thriller

Directed by Suicide Squad and The Beekeeper filmmaker David Ayer, Heart of the Beast promises a gripping mix of action, survival and emotion, with the relationship between Belmont and Odin forming the emotional core of the story.

The recently released trailer had already generated buzz for its breathtaking visuals and high-stakes survival sequences, but the new featurette shifts the spotlight to the film's emotional heartbeat, the friendship between a soldier and his dog. Pitt's candid comments about Odin and the behind-the-scenes footage have further fuelled anticipation for the action thriller.

The film also stars J.K. Simmons and Anna Lambe, with a screenplay by Cameron Alexander. Brad Pitt serves as one of the producers alongside Olivia Hamilton, Marty Bowen and David Ayer, while La La Land filmmaker Damien Chazelle is among the executive producers.

Heart of the Beast is produced by Paramount Pictures in association with Domain Entertainment and Gulfstream Pictures. The film is set to release exclusively in cinemas across India on September 25, 2026, promising audiences an emotional survival adventure anchored by the extraordinary bond between man and his best friend.
