Verity poster
Sony Pictures has taken to its official Instagram handle to drop a new black and red coloured poster for the thriller Verity. The poster teases the complex dynamic between Verity Crawford, played by Anne Hathaway, and Lowen Ashleigh, played by Dakota Johnson. Their haunting presence and emotionally charged chemistry set the perfect stage for dangerous psychological games and disturbing truths that make up the core of the story.
Adapted from Colleen Hoover's best-selling novel, this seductive, psychological thriller follows renowned author Verity Crawford and Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling writer who relocates to the remote Crawford estate to ghostwrite for Verity. After Lowen uncovers what appears to be Verity's chilling autobiographical notes, she wrestles with the disturbing and twisted confessions about Verity's husband, Jeremy, and finds it hard to separate fiction from reality, manipulation from attraction, and opportunity from obsession.
Produced by Amazon MGM Studios and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing International, Verity releases in cinemas across India on 2nd October, 2026.
During her appearance on Good Morning America, the Oscar winner was asked about her desire to see a wider range of body types represented in films. To this, she said, "It was this quick thing that happened on set, and now it's become a much bigger story." She further clarified, "Actually, I do want to mention some misinformation getting out there right now that people were fired because of the size inclusivity, and that just didn't happen."
The 43-year-old actress added, "Nobody lost their jobs; in fact, it created more jobs. It was just about making sure that so many different body types saw themselves in a moment in the script."
She explained, "There's a song that Lady Gaga wrote, and it's a beautiful, amazing song. Isn't it better when you see so many different types of bodies up there with that?"
Streep, in an interview with Harper's Bazaar in March, had said that she was surprised by how skinny the models on the film's set were. "Annie clocked it too, and she made a beeline to the producers about it, securing promises that the models in the show that we were putting together for our film would not be so skeletal! She's a stand-up girl," she added.
