Oscar-winning actor Anne Hathaway says she is embracing one of the busiest phases of her career while preparing to welcome her third child with husband Adam Shulman and gearing up for her fifth release. After the teaser, makers have dropped the trailer of Verity, which stars Anne alongside Dakota Johnson, leading a dark, twisted thriller.
Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson are set to bring a dark and unsettling thriller to the big screen with Verity. Based on Colleen Hoover's bestselling novel of the same name, the upcoming film takes audiences into a world filled with secrets, mystery and psychological tension.
It narrates the story of renowned author Verity Crawford (Anne Hathaway) and Lowen Ashleigh (Dakota Johnson), a struggling writer who relocates to the remote Crawford estate to ghostwrite for Verity. After Lowen uncovers what appears to be Verity's chilling autobiographical notes, she wrestles with the disturbing and twisted confessions about Verity's husband, Jeremy (Josh Hartnett), and finds it hard to separate fiction from reality, manipulation from attraction, and opportunity from obsession.
With its mysterious setting, unsettling revelations and increasingly blurred line between truth and lies, Verity promises a gripping psychological thriller for audiences. The film is directed by Michael Showalter and is set to add a dark tone to this October.
Produced by Amazon MGM Studios and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing International, Verity is slated to release in India on 2nd October 2026, in cinemas only.
Hathaway is on track to release five films in 2026. Her year began with Mother Mary, followed by The Devil Wears Prada 2. She is currently starring in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, in which she plays Penelope opposite Matt Damon's Odysseus, according to People.
Her upcoming releases also include The End of Oak Street, slated to hit theatres on August 14, and Verity, scheduled for release on October 2.
In June, Hathaway announced that she and her husband, Adam Shulman, are expecting their third child. The couple, who married in 2012, are already parents to sons Jonathan and Jack.
Recently, Hathaway stole the spotlight during The End of Oak Street premiere by flaunting her baby bump. Soon, she was trolled, with netizens calling her baby bump fake, to which she gave a befitting reply.
