Kim Kardashian and Kanye West may have moved on from their marriage, but when it comes to cheering for their daughter, the former couple appears to be on the same page. The estranged pair were both spotted at 13-year-old North West's first solo gig in Chicago over the weekend, where the teenager took centre stage for a rap performance.
North, sporting her now-signature blue hair and an elaborate stage outfit, performed at a sold-out venue on Saturday. Among the crowd were both her parents, who were seen recording moments from their daughter's performance and cheering her on.
However, the former couple maintained a careful distance throughout the evening. Videos circulating online showed West watching from one balcony with members of his crew, while Kardashian was positioned on a parallel balcony alongside her friends. Despite keeping to separate sides of the venue, both appeared focused on their daughter as she performed.
Kardashian also gave followers a glimpse of the evening through her Instagram Stories. The reality star shared footage of the packed venue before North took the stage, capturing the anticipation among the crowd.
During her set, North performed tracks including North4evr and reportedly treated the audience to some previously unreleased material. The performance marks another step into music for the teenager, who has already joined her father on stage.
Earlier this month, North performed alongside West during his comeback concert at SoFi Stadium, where the father-daughter duo performed Talking and Piercing on My Hand. She recently also cancelled the maiden Dallas tour.
North's growing presence in the spotlight has also attracted criticism. Her blue hair, piercings and decision to perform on stage at 13 have prompted some social media users to question whether the teenager is being pushed into the public eye too soon. Others have directed criticism at Kardashian and West over their parenting choices.
North is the eldest of the former couple's four children. Kardashian and West also share Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 7. The Chicago appearance comes as both parents continue with their separate lives following their highly publicised divorce. West married Bianca Censori in 2022, while Kardashian has been linked romantically with Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton since early 2026.
For one evening, however, the focus appeared to remain firmly on North, with both Kardashian and West showing up to support their daughter as she took her first major solo step on stage.
